"This documentary offers viewers deep insights into the diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes and the challenges and operations of this state-of-the-art discovery yacht."

Scenic and Warner Bros. Discovery have an exciting new documentary series, premiering on the 4th of June in the UK, called ‘Maritime Masters: Expedition Antarctica,’ which takes viewers on an extraordinary journey aboard Scenic Eclipse, the world’s first discovery yacht. Produced in collaboration with Dundas Media, this original series offers a behind-the-scenes look at life on board the ultra-luxury cruise ship and showcases the remarkable experiences provided by Scenic’s dedicated crew.

Narrated by the passionate captains and professional crew members themselves, ‘Maritime Masters: Expedition Antarctica’ provides a captivating narrative as they navigate through some of the world’s most pristine and culturally rich travel destinations across seven continents. The five-episode docu-series focuses on Scenic Eclipse’s expedition from San Diego to Antarctica, offering viewers deep insights into the diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes and the challenges and operations of this state-of-the-art discovery yacht.

The series highlights Scenic’s commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences for their discerning guests. From the tantalising gastronomic cuisine and personalised in-suite butler services to exhilarating helicopter tours and deep-diving submarine adventures, viewers get an immersive glimpse into the luxurious amenities and life-changing moments that Scenic Eclipse offers.

The first episode, ‘The Beginning,’ introduces the key characters of the show as Scenic Eclipse embarks on its epic voyage to Antarctica from San Diego. The crew explores Jacques Cousteau Island in Mexico and attempts the first-ever commercial submersible night dive in Huatulco. The second episode, ‘Dishing Up Dreams,’ follows an emotional hike in Guatemala, a cacao mission in El Salvador and Chef Tom’s challenge to Chef Strawberry. The crew faces intense weather delays and Cruise Director Josh is put on the spot to create a surprise Halloween party.

‘Journey to the End of the World,’ the third episode, showcases the navigational challenges posed by the English Narrows and features an epic first-ever submarine dive in the Chilean Fjords. Chef Tom challenges Chef Nik, while Captain Radomir strives to achieve a momentous milestone for the Discovery Yacht by setting foot on the treacherous Cape Horn. The fourth episode, ‘Deception Island,’ highlights Captain Erwan’s expertise in providing a wind block, rare weather events encountered in the Drake Passage, and the joy of penguin sightings for the guests.

In the final episode, ‘New Beginnings,’ the Discovery Team leads an unforgettable penguin expedition on Danco Island. Brendon and Jason embark on a quest to find 10,000-year-old glacier ice to create an Antarctica-themed cocktail. Captain Erwan expertly navigates the breathtaking Lemaire Channel, and both crew and guests take part in the exhilarating polar plunge into the icy waters. The episode ends with a tantalising question: What could possibly be next? Perhaps a new discovery yacht?
