A Sani Resort Insider Review from Our Travel Suite Team

A Guide to the Hotels at Sani Resort: Which One is Right for You?

By Brenda Clarke

One of the highlights of my recent visit to Sani Resort was getting the opportunity to tour all five hotels. While they all share the same stunning setting, beautiful beaches and access to the resort’s fantastic facilities, each property has its own personality.

Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a couples’ escape or a luxury retreat, here’s my honest take on each hotel after seeing them firsthand.

Sani Beach

The first thing I noticed about Sani Beach was the atmosphere. It felt vibrant, energetic and full of life. As the largest hotel within the resort, there’s always something going on, whether that’s families heading to the beach, children enjoying the pools or guests gathering for dinner after a day in the sun.

The hotel sits directly on a beautiful stretch of Blue Flag beach overlooking the Aegean Sea, with pine forests creating a stunning backdrop. Recently renovated rooms and suites offer plenty of space for families, while the beachfront location means you’re never more than a few steps from the sea.

There are lagoon-style pools, watersports, tennis courts, kids’ clubs and a full spa, making it easy to understand why this is one of the most popular hotels within the resort.

My thoughts: Sani Beach has a fantastic atmosphere and is ideal for families. Personally, it was probably my least favourite of the five hotels simply because there were so many young children around. That said, if I were travelling with kids, I can absolutely see why this would be such a popular choice.

Sani Asterias

If Sani Beach is the lively heart of the resort, Sani Asterias is its most exclusive address.

This boutique hotel feels completely different from the other properties. With only around 50 suites, residences and villas, it offers a much more private and intimate experience. Many accommodations feature private pools, gardens and direct beach access, making it feel more like staying in a luxury residence than a traditional hotel.

The setting is beautiful, overlooking the marina and the Aegean Sea, with a quieter private beach reserved exclusively for guests. Despite its peaceful atmosphere, you’re still only moments away from the restaurants, boutiques and nightlife of Sani Marina.

My thoughts: I absolutely loved Sani Asterias. It felt effortlessly luxurious without being flashy. It’s undoubtedly one of the most high-end options within the resort and perfect for couples, honeymooners or anyone looking for privacy. Just be prepared for the price tag that comes with it.

Porto Sani

Porto Sani was my home for the duration of the trip, and honestly, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Unlike some of the other hotels, Porto Sani isn’t directly on the beach. Instead, it’s centred around a beautiful lagoon-style pool and sits just a short stroll from Sani Marina. For me, this was actually one of its biggest strengths. Everything felt incredibly convenient, with restaurants, shops and evening entertainment all within easy walking distance.

The hotel is entirely made up of suites, which gives it a much more spacious feel. Families are particularly well catered for, with dedicated children’s facilities, excellent kids’ clubs and thoughtful extras such as baby equipment and family-friendly dining options.

Despite its family focus, the hotel never felt overrun with children. The atmosphere was relaxed, calm and noticeably less busy than Sani Beach.

My thoughts: Porto Sani struck the perfect balance for me. It felt family-friendly without being overwhelmingly family-focused, and I loved being so close to the marina. If I were booking a return visit, this would be my first choice.

Sani Dunes

Of all the hotels I visited, Sani Dunes felt the most contemporary.

Located right beside Sani Marina, it combines a stylish beachfront setting with a modern design-led feel. In many ways, it reminded me more of an upscale beach club than a traditional resort hotel, with a slightly more grown-up atmosphere than some of the other properties.

One of its standout features is the enormous heated lagoon pool, reportedly the largest of its kind in Greece. Many rooms enjoy direct access to the pool, while the hotel’s private beach is only moments away.

Dining is another major highlight here, with several excellent restaurants offering a more refined experience than some of the family-focused options elsewhere in the resort.

My thoughts: I really liked Sani Dunes. The rooms were beautiful, the beachfront location was excellent and the overall atmosphere felt sophisticated without being pretentious. I would happily stay here on a future visit, particularly for a couples’ holiday.

Sani Club

Tucked away at the far end of the resort, Sani Club offers a completely different experience.

Surrounded by pine forests, olive groves and nature trails, it feels wonderfully peaceful and secluded. The accommodation is spread across low-rise bungalow-style buildings rather than a traditional hotel block, which creates a more residential, villa-like atmosphere.

The private beach is beautiful and far less crowded than some of the busier areas of the resort, while the natural setting makes it particularly appealing for guests looking to switch off and unwind.

My thoughts: While I could completely appreciate its appeal, Sani Club was probably a little too quiet for me. I also found it noticeably hillier than the other hotels, which could be challenging for guests with mobility issues. If you’re looking for peace, nature and a slower pace of life, however, this could be exactly what you’re after.

Activities for Families

One thing that really impressed me throughout the resort was the range of activities available for families.

The Bear Grylls Survival Academy and Treetop Adventure are particularly popular and, unlike many resort activities, are included at no additional cost.

For budding sports stars, there are tennis programmes run in partnership with the Rafa Nadal Academy and football coaching through Chelsea FC. These do incur an additional charge and are extremely popular, so advance booking is highly recommended.

Bike hire is also available for guests wanting to explore more of the resort and surrounding area.

Understanding the Dine Around Programme

One of the biggest benefits of staying at Sani Resort is the Dine Around programme, which allows guests to enjoy restaurants across the various hotels and Sani Marina.

Board basis varies by hotel:

  • Porto Sani includes Full Board as standard.
  • Sani Beach, Sani Club and Sani Dunes typically offer Half Board.
  • Sani Asterias is Bed & Breakfast only.

Guests dining through the Dine Around programme should be aware that participating restaurants offer a dedicated Dine Around menu. If guests choose to order from the main à la carte menu instead, a dining credit applies (currently around €25 per person), with any additional spend charged separately.

Upon arrival, guests receive full details of participating restaurants and dining options, making it easy to explore the resort throughout their stay.

Final Thoughts

What surprised me most about Sani Resort was how different each hotel felt despite sharing the same beaches, marina and facilities.

For families, Porto Sani and Sani Beach are hard to beat. Couples looking for luxury and privacy will love Sani Asterias, while Sani Dunes offers a stylish, contemporary atmosphere close to the marina. If peace, nature and space are your priorities, Sani Club could be the perfect fit.

For me, Porto Sani was the standout. The location, atmosphere and balance between family-friendly facilities and relaxed luxury made it somewhere I’d happily return to again and again.
