About Split
Without hiding their pride, the people of Split will tell you that their city is ‘the most beautiful one in the world and beyond’ and they nicknamed it ‘The Mediterranean Flower’. This eternally young city with around 200 thousands inhabitants has lived its urban rhythm for 1700 years.
Split was first settled when, at the end of the third century AD, the Roman Emperor Diocletian built his palace in this friendly bay. The monumental architecture of the city and a number of important individuals have formed a specific cosmopolitan character of the city occasionally intertwined with the rebellious spirit of its inhabitants.
This tourist, economic and sports region guards its green soul on Marjan Hill, where a forest park near the city offers a comfortable and quiet atmosphere and a walk far from the town noise. The rich offer for tourists as well as the unique cultural heritage and many cultural and tourist events make Split an ideal holiday destination throughout the year.
About Island of Hvar
Hvar is the longest and the sunniest Croatian island and is known far and wide for its green setting and omnipresent scent of lavender, extraordinary beauty and harmony of its towns. A real wealth of natural beauty perfect for ones holiday to Croatia
The Town of Hvar is the largest settlement on the island. No matter from which point this town is approached, it straight away presents itself as a monument. Centuries have grounded its stone and have shaped its appearance. Hvar displays with pride one of the oldest municipal theatres in Europe. It has been whispered that Hvar is the new St. Tropez. It has climbed its way to international recognition without effort and has been ranked as Croatia’s trendiest summer destination and an ultimate ‘must-be’ spot.
Facing the shore of the island, there are numerous islets which attract sailing enthusiasts with their green settings and intended shorelines. Friendly people, numerous picturesque and intact beaches and bays, virgin nature, rich historical and cultural inheritance, the scent of lavender, olive trees and wine, all of these are reflecting the glossy spirit of an exquisite resort area and are the reasons that Hvar Island welcomes more and more tourists each year.
