The four-day sailing included an unforgettable visit to the breathtaking harbour of Portofino—a destination inaccessible to most large cruise ships. Guests arrived by tender, adding to the exclusivity and charm of stepping ashore in one of Italy’s most beautiful seaside villages. For me, it was my very first visit to Portofino and undoubtedly one of the highlights of the journey.

Unlike traditional cruise ships, every accommodation onboard is a luxurious ocean-front suite, each featuring a private terrace, spacious living area and elegant residential-style design. I also had the privilege of touring one of the ship’s most prestigious residences—the magnificent Owner’s Residence 2 (Suite 7114)—a truly extraordinary home at sea showcasing exceptional space, craftsmanship and uninterrupted ocean views.

Wellness is at the heart of the Explora Journeys experience. Each morning I embraced the sea air with a 5km run on the outdoor walking and jogging track, followed by a 45-minute outdoor spin class, cycling while overlooking the endless Mediterranean. It was one of the most inspiring fitness experiences I have ever enjoyed.

For sports enthusiasts, Explora III also features a full-size paddle court, allowing guests to enjoy one of Europe’s fastest-growing sports while cruising through some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.
