IKOS ARIA

"To say we were blown away by the property and what it had to offer is an understatement."

Having spent a glorious week in IKOS, Andalucia, in Spain last October we decided to try another IKOS resort this June. As IKOS is a Greek brand we headed to the island of Kos to kick off our summer, and understand where this incredible resort got its inspiration from.

To say we were blown away by the property and what it had to offer is an understatement.

The climate in Greece in June is stunning, 25-30 degrees, with the most glorious breeze throughout the day. The direct flight was just 4 hours and only a 15 minute drive the other end to the most beautiful resort I have ever stayed in.

The layout of the property is so well designed with the most magnificent gardens throughout making you feel you were in a little oasis of your own. We stayed in a beautiful one bed apartment suite which overlooked the sea. The décor was stylish, fresh and luxurious. As we took the Delux package we had our own private pool and restaurant with other Deluxe clients. You can also stay in little villas around the site which each have a pool.

My day started off with a 3 km walk around the property taking in the herb gardens, the ruins, the insect gardens, the beautiful olive trees, plants and beaches. The Greek God most associated with the island of Kos is Asclepius, the God of healing, and to say after a week
there I felt completely nourished.

We love to be active on holidays and IKOS Aria has endless things to do. We walked into Kefalos, a little fishing village about 3km along the coast from the resort, a few times, and cycled both there and to another nearby village another day. IKOS have a brilliant activity centre where you can take out any sort of bike, trekking/road, and they will point you in the right direction. They also have tennis rackets for the 4 fabulous courts they have there, we
played 3 times, and you can organise lessons too if you like. There is a beach volley ball court, a soccer academy and tennis table too.

On the beach they have adult only areas, areas for families, and areas for all. We swam out to the little island of Kastri every day from the beach. It is only a 100 meter swim and the water was clearer than any water I have ever been in. On the island there is a little chapel where you can ring the bell and jump off the rocks for a bit of adrenalin on your way back.

The resort has an endless supply of paddle boats, water sports, snorkelling, and its own learning diving tank. We spent the morning on the beach, post a delicious a la carte breakfast, where the IKOS team were there to supply you with water, coffees, drinks, snacks, lunch and even polish your sun glasses, which took me by surprise!

We ended up having our breakfast and lunch in the Deluxe restaurant every day as the selection of food, and service, was out of this world. I couldn’t eat enough Greek salad, Seabass, and Gazpacho soup. If you are not staying in the Deluxe rooms there is an incredible buffet which does amazing breakfast/lunch and dinner and some of the evening restaurants do a la carte breakfast and lunch too. In the evening we tried all of the 7 restaurants on site loving the Asian one, Anaya; the Greek one, Ouzo; the Italian Fresco and the French, Provence. Every meal was fresh, delicious and relaxing.

If you are not a sea lover there are plenty of pools to choose from, including adult only and kiddies pools. There are plenty of organised activities for the little ones, clubs galore, and live music in the evenings for all. We organised a day trip into Kos town one day taking advantage of one of the complimentary Tesla’s on site. There is great shopping in Kos, and it is worth a visit. If you don’t fancy driving yourself there are transfers in-out of Kos each
day, which is about a 45 minute drive away.

The combination of beautiful weather, the glorious sea, incredible food, wonderful accommodation and plenty to do, puts IKOS Aria top in its class. The Travel Suite organised everything for us from beginning to end and picked an incredible destination for us.
