Luxury Malta Holidays
Although this Mediterranean island is small in size, Malta is a breathtaking destination known for its warm climate, remarkable landscapes and beautiful blue waters. Malta is part of an archipelago of islands and the other islands of, Gozo and Camino are both charming and can be reached very easily by local ferries.
Located between Africa and Sicily, Malta has a rich heritage of cultural ethnicity, with the Romans, French, British, Moors, Spanish and the Knights of St. John, having ruled the Island throughout the centuries. This has led to a diverse and rich mix of cultures and history.
Malta’s beauty, gorgeous coastline and ancient architecture have also made it a famous location shoot for many films, including Gladiator, Troy, Count of Monte Cristo and the TV program Game of Thrones.
Gozo is more peaceful, remote and relaxed than Malta and is home to beautiful landscape, beaches and coves. It has some of the best dive sites in the world. It is also known for its wine, craft beer and its carnival and village festivals. It is home to the Calypso Cave, made famous by Homer’s Odyssey and the Ggantija Neolithic temples which are among the oldest surviving man made structures in the world.
Then there is Camino, which is a largely uninhabited island mostly known for its beaches and the famous Blue lagoon.
Malta is the prefect spot if you are looking for a luxury holiday. The country is known for its luxury accommodation which includes hotels, palazzos, private villas, historic boutique hotels and farmhouses.
One of my recommendations is to take time to visit the cities of Malta, including the capital Valetta and Mdina, the former capital. Mdina was built in the middle ages and it feels as if you are stepping back into time. Travelling around the island of Malta is very easy, as they drive on the same side of the road as ourselves. The local bus service is excellent and a great way to explore the island, just hop on any bus that passes.
To sum up, Malta is a country rich with culture, landscape, beaches, amazing restaurants and nightlife, catering to every type of traveler. There is so much to see, do and eat.
Enjoy the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean sea while scuba diving, spend the day soaking up the sun on one of the many beaches, explore the ancient cities and some of the oldest structures in the world, visit picturesque old fishing towns or just spend the day people watching from some of the fabulous restaurants and bars.
If you are looking for sun, beauty, history, culture and food, then Malta should be on your travel list.
