My tennis trip to Spain – La Manga Club – with my two sisters to a tennis camp
We flew with Ryanair from Dublin direct to Murcia a two hour and half flight – we organised a
personal transfer for us as there were 3 of us and we were arriving on a late flight at nearly
9 pm. The transfer cost €100 and it took about 45 min. The hotel organised all this. The
Travel Suite have a direct contract with the newly renovated Hyatt Hotel.
The hotel we stayed at was La Manga Club Hotel Principe Felipe – which was a 4 star hotel,
but since we were there, this hotel has been totally renovated and its now a 5 star Hyatt
hotel.

The hotels location was just 5 min from The Racquets Club at La Manga, home of world class
tennis, padel and fitness facilities. The racquets club is one of Europe’s most popular tennis
destinations with 28 courts. The academies offer adults and children of all ages the
opportunity to develop their game.
The Racquets Club has seven floodlit padel tennis courts (the fastest growing game in all of
Europe), the same artificial grass used on the World Padel Tour.
Breakfast was included with the hotel, so we got healthy food into us every morning, buffet
type breakfast. And we had tennis classes booked from 9 – 11 daily. We were only there for
4 days. The coaches in the tennis club were world class coaches, and we joined a team of
international players with about 10 in each class.
It was a bit of a workout, as you had to do a good warm up, and you were constantly on the move for the entire 2 hours. Really great experience, and as someone who plays tennis, I truly felt I learnt a lot over the 4 days.
I also used the wonderful fitness centre which had state of the art fitness equipment. This
was free to use if you are staying at the Hotel. We organised to go out for dinner for 3 nights.

This was an amazing experience as your table is located overlooking the beach, and of
course you can eat inside if you so wish. It was about a 10 min taxi ride from the hotel.
Fabulous food, steaks, and wine.
Bocana De Palos – it was about a 15 drive away and was €20 in a taxi.
This was again, directly on the sea, and is in the heart of the port of Cabo de Palos, we had
the most beautiful pasta and Fish here and the total bill for the 3 of us with a bottle of wine
was less than €60. Great value and worth the visit. www.bocanadepalos +0034968563621
The travel suite also can organise golf at the Grand Hyatt hotel, and we have rates which
include green fees. The resort is home to 3 – 18-hole golf courses long the 6km of the
resort, and each course is suitable for the different levels of its players. It also has a large
practice area and a great academy for all levels with the latest equipment for the practice of
this sport.
Another sport that is available in this are is a cricket club. And the Irish cricket team train
down here in Spain. (so I have been told)
I travelled with my sisters Suzanne and Geraldine and here we are having a cliff experience lunch at the La Cala Beach Cove – La Manga Club Restaurant – The most picturesque venue at La Cala beach overlooking the resorts own secluded cove, La Cala serves the freshest Mediterranean fish and Seafood. (This restaurant has seasonal openings). We had to be dropped by taxi halfway and walk down the mountain to get to this restaurant, this is a once in a lifetime experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 days of tennis and what this area has to offer, The Travel Suite
will be organising some group travel for tennis clubs and individuals who want a bit of tennis
or golf and to get away for a few days and take in the sun and beautiful food and scenery.
